Baked german potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- cider vinegar - 2/3 c
- hot water - 1 c
- dry mustard - 2 tsp
- onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
- ground pepper - 1/4 tsp
- grated Swiss cheese - 2/3 c
- slices bacon - 6 item
- 7 large red potatoes - 3 lb
How to make baked german potato salad:
Boil potatoes until tender. Peel, slice and place in a 2-quart greased casserole dish. Cook bacon until crisp. Reserve 1/4 cup drippings and set bacon aside. Add onions to drippings. Cook about 5 minutes. Add flour; cook 2 minutes. Whisk in water, vinegar, sugar, mustard, salt and pepper. Cook until thickened. Add bacon. Pour over potatoes and stir gently. Top with cheese.
