Apricot bars
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 C
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- butter or margarine - 3/4 C
- flour - 2 C
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shredded coconut
- walnuts - 1/2 C
- jar apricot preserves - 12 oz
How to make apricot bars:
In large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg; mix well. In separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add to butter mixture. Add coconut, walnuts and vanilla; mix thoroughly. Press 2/3 of dough into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Spread with preserves; crumble remaining dough over preserves.Bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan. Cut into squares.
Yields 36 bars.
