Applesauce spice bars
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- powdered sugar - 2 c
- pumpkin pie spice - 1 tsp
- hot water - 1 2
- brown sugar, packed - 2/3 c
- applesauce - 1 c
- Bisquick baking mix - 2 c
- Grease oblong pan 13 x 9 x 2-inch
How to make applesauce spice bars:
Heat oven to 350°. Grease oblong pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch). Beat applesauce, brown sugar, oil and eggs in large mixing bowl on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally for 1 minute. Stir in baking mix, pumpkin pie spice and nuts. Spread in pan. Bake about 25 minutes or until toothpick inserts clean. Cool and frost with Browned Butter Glaze; cut into 3 x 1-inch bars.Browned Butter Frosting:1/4 c. margarine or butter2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 to 2 Tbsp. hot water Heat margarine over low heat until golden brown; remove from heat.
