  • flour - 2 c
  • soda
  • cocoa - 2 Tbsp
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • sweetened applesauce - 2 c
  • chopped walnuts or pecans - 1/2 c
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and combine thoroughly

How to make applesauce brownies:

Cream together the sugar and shortening in a bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients and combine thoroughly. Pour on a 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly-roll pan.Topping:2 Tbsp. white sugar (put in salt shaker for even spreading)1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips1/2
