Apple pie pizza
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- ice water - 1/4 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- Cremora powder - 1/2 c
- sliced, pared apples 1/2-inch thick - 6 c
How to make apple pie pizza:
Combine 1 1/4 cups flour and 1 teaspoon salt in bowl. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Add cheese. Sprinkle water on top. Shape into ball. Roll into 15-inch circle on floured surface. Place on 13-inch pizza pan. Turn up edge to form rim. Combine Cremora powder, brown sugar, sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well. Sprinkle half of mixture over pastry. Cut butter into remaining half until crumbly; set aside.Arrange apples on crust overlapping in circles. Sprinkle with lemon juice, top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 450° for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm.
