Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder
- shortening - 1/2 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in 2 tablespoons lukewarm water. Let stand 5 minutes. Sift dry ingredients together in a bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until crumbly. Add yeast to milk. Mix well. Add to flour mixture, stirring slowly with a fork.Turn dough onto floured surface. Knead. Roll on floured surface to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes. Top with butter and honey. Yields 2 dozen.
