  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • buttermilk - 2 c
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • self-rising flour - 5 c
  • warm water - 2 Tbsp
  • yeast - 1 pkg

How to make angel biscuits:

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Sift flour and add sugar. Cut in shortening; add yeast and buttermilk. Knead. Make as biscuits. Do not allow to rise before baking. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
