  • milk - 1/3 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/3 c
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • cake flour - 2 c
  • vanilla flavor - 1 tsp
  • brown or white sugar - 3/4 c

How to make vanilla drop cookies:

Combine shortening and sugar; cream thoroughly. Add beaten egg. Sift the dry ingredients together and add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and vanilla. Drop by teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet and bake in a moderate oven at 375° for 10 to 15 minutes. Makes 50 cookies 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
