Snappy turtle cookies
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour
- pecan halves - 1 c
- egg white - 1 item
- maple flavoring - 1/8 tsp
- egg whole - 1 item
How to make snappy turtle cookies:
Sift together flour, salt and soda. Cream shortening. Add flavorings. Add dry ingredients gradually; mix thoroughly. Arrange pecan halves in groups of 3 on greased baking sheet to resemble head and hind legs. Mold teaspoons of dough into balls. Dip bottoms in egg white and press onto pecans. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool and frost tops.In memory of Emma Walker.
