Ingredients/Components
- salt
- boiling water
- chopped green pepper - 1 c
- olive oil - 1/4 c
- fresh chopped parsley
- medium tomatoes, diced - 2 item
- fresh black pepper - 1 item
- dry bulgur wheat - 1 c
- crushed garlic - 1 tsp
- dried mint - 1/2 tsp
- coarsely grated carrots - 1/2 c
- chopped scallions include greens - 1/2 c
- chopped cucumber or summer squash - 1 c
- fresh lemon juice or lime - 1/4 c
- Combine bulgur, hot water and salt in bowl
How to make tabouli:
Start at least 3 hours before serving; needs to marinate and chill. Combine bulgur, hot water and salt in bowl. Cover and let stand 35 to 45 minutes or until chewable. Add lemon juice, garlic, oil and mint and mix well. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
