Surprise pie

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• chopped nuts - 1 c
• egg whites - 3 item
• cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
• whipped cream or Cool Whip - 1/2 pt
• soda crackers - 18 item

How to make surprise pie:

Beat egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar and sugar and beat until stiff. Fold in cracker crumbs, nuts and vanilla. Pour into greased 9-inch pie pan. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes. Cool. Whip the cream and spread over pie. You may want to put strawberry topping on pie before whipped topping. Other toppings may be used.
