Ingredients/Components

• dark brown sugar - 4 Tbsp
• egg whites - 4 item
• pecans - 1 c
• Karo
• box Duncan Hines spice cake mix - 1 item
• chopped cherries - 1 c
• coconut or raisins - 1 c

How to make spice cake:

Icing:1 1/2 c. Karo4 Tbsp. dark brown sugar4 egg whites1 c. pecans1 c. coconut or raisins1 c. chopped cherries Cook cake mix as directed. Put Karo and brown sugar into saucepan. Stir together and bring to a hard boil. Cook 1 minute, stirring none while cooking.

Start egg whites to beating when you start Karo and sugar cooking. Add mixture to egg whites a little at a time. Beat well. Add other ingredients. May use raisins instead of coconut. Spread on layers. I save a little pecans and cherries to go on top.
