  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • molasses - 3/4 c
  • ginger - 1/4 tsp
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • allspice - 1/2 tsp
  • sour milk or coffee - 1/2 c

How to make soft molasses cookies:

Sift flour, soda, salt and spices. Mix in evening and chill. Bake next day. Roll thick.
