School house rolls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- warm water - 2 c
- bread flour - 1 item
- melted shortening - 1/2 c
- dry milk - 1/2 c
- yeast - 2 pkg
How to make school house rolls:
Mix yeast with 1/2 cup warm water; set aside. Combine dry milk and add 1 1/2 cups warm water, sugar and shortening. Stir well. Add yeast and stir. Add enough flour to make like paste. Let rise 45 minutes. Then add salt and enough flour to make dough. Roll out, cut and let rise 1 hour or more. Bake at 425° until brown. Brush with butter.(Must use BREAD FLOUR for this recipe.)
