Raisin oatmeal cookies

- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - 3/4 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- raisins - 1 c
- rolled oats
How to make raisin oatmeal cookies:
Preheat the oven to 375°. Cook the 1 cup raisins and 1 cup water together until about 5 tablespoons of water remains. Drain and reserve the liquid. Mix together the shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in the cooled raisin liquid and the vanilla. Sift the dry ingredients together and stir into the dough. Stir in the cooked raisins and the rolled oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheets.
