Pumpkin tea loaf
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 4 item
- salt
- flour
- water - 2/3 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 2/3 c
- raisins - 1 c
- walnuts, chopped - 1 c
- ground cloves - 1 tsp
- can pumpkin - 1 lb
How to make pumpkin tea loaf:
Blend shortening and sugar. Add eggs, pumpkin and water. Combine dry ingredients and add to mixture. Mix well. Add raisins and walnuts. Put in 2 (9 x 5-inch) or 3 disposable greased loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 1 1/4 hours. Freezes very well. Can add any kind of nuts and chopped dates.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Heirloom/historical.
