Powdered sugar cookies

Ingredients/Components

• vanilla - 1 tsp
• butter or margarine - 1/2 c
• flour - 2 c
• soda - 1/2 tsp
• shortening - 1/2 c
• powdered sugar - 1 c
• cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
• egg, beaten - 1 item
• pinch salt - 1 item

How to make powdered sugar cookies:

Cream shortening, butter and sugar. Add beaten egg, salt and vanilla. Sift soda, cream of tartar and flour together. Add to other mixture. Roll into small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with fork. Trim with nut meats, etc. if desired. Bake in 375° oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 3 dozen medium size cookies.
