Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- 4 oz - 2 lb
- and 1 1/2 tsp - 2 Tbsp
- yellow food coloring - 1 item
How to make pineapple sauce:
Drain pineapple, saving the juice. Add lemon juice to pineapple juice. In heavy saucepan, stir together cornstarch, sugar and salt. Gradually add pineapple juice. Mix until smooth. Place over medium heat and cook until mixture thickens and boils. Boil about 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat; add 6 drops of food coloring and vanilla. Let cool and refrigerate.
