Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 3 item
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 1 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- can crushed pineapple - 1 oz
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- Meringue:3 egg whites
- flavor - 1/2 tsp
How to make pineapple meringue pie:
Meringue:3 egg whites1/4 tsp. cream of tartar6 Tbsp. sugar1/2 tsp. flavor Line a 9 inch pie plate with deep fluted crust. Cream the sugar, flour, egg yolks and butter. Stir in the pineapple and water. Mix well and pour into the unbaked fluted pie crust. Bake 15 minutes at 425°. Reduce heat to 350° and bake for 30 more minutes.When cool, apply meringue. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy, gradually add sugar and flavoring. Beat until stiff. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes.
