Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 c
- softened butter - 1 c
- sifted all-purpose flour - 2 c
- softened cream cheese - 6 oz
- Filling:3 eggs
How to make pecan tassies:
Filling:3 eggs2 c. brown sugar3 Tbsp. softened butter1/4 tsp. salt1 tsp. vanilla1 1/2 c. chopped pecans Make pastry cups by mixing cream cheese, flour and butter. Shape into about 60 small balls. Chill. Press balls into tiny muffin or tart tins.Make filling by creaming eggs and sugar. Beat in butter until fluffy, then add salt and vanilla. Fill pastry cups about half full with chopped pecans. Spoon in filling and bake at 350° about 20 minutes. Let cool slightly and remove from tins to wire rack to complete cooling. Makes 60 Tassies.
Note: Do not overfill pastry cups.
