  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 4 item
  • chopped pecans - 2 c
  • coconut - 1 can
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • plain flour
  • dates, chopped - 1/2 lb
  • orange juice - 1 c
  • margarine 2 sticks - 1 c
  • buttermilk or regular - 1/2 c
  • orange candy, chopped - 1 lb

How to make orange slice cake:

Frosting:1 c. sugar1 c. orange juice Mix ingredients and cook at 300° in a tube pan for 2 hours.

Frosting: Bring to a boil. Pour over cake while still hot and leave in pan overnight.
