Ingredients/Components

  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • granulated sugar - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • water - 1/4 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • raisins - 1 c
  • oats quick or regular - 3 c

How to make oatmeal cookies:

Preheat oven to 350°. Beat together shortening, sugar, eggs, water and vanilla until creamy. Combine flour, salt and soda. Add to mixture. Add raisins and oats. Mix well. Drop by spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen. 15 minutes.
