Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 8 Tbsp
- sugar - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- confectioners sugar - 1 item
- all-purpose flour
- large eggs - 2 item
- chopped walnuts
How to make nut cake:
Heat oven to 350°. Butter an 8-inch cake pan and dust with flour.Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Stir half of the flour mixture into the butter mixture until the batter is smooth, then stir in half of the milk. Repeat the process with the rest of the flour mixture and the remaining milk. Fold in the walnuts.
Turn the batter into the prepared pan. Bake the cake for about 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove the cake to a wire rack to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing from pan to cool completely. Dust with confectioners sugar before serving.
