Mississippi mud cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- margarine - 1/2 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- flour
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- vanilla - 3 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- miniature marshmallows
- melted butter
- confectioners sugar - 1 lb
- milk - 6 8
How to make mississippi mud cake:
Frosting:1/2 c. melted butter1/2 c. cocoa1 lb. confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla6 to 8 Tbsp. milk1 c. chopped nuts Cream together sugar and shortening; add the eggs and beat well. Sift together flour, cocoa and salt; stir into the egg, sugar and shortening mixture, then add vanilla and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Remove the cake from the oven and spread marshmallows evenly over the top of the cake. Place back in the oven for about 5 minutes. Cover marshmallows with frosting.Frosting: Add cocoa and sugar to melted margarine. Blend in remaining ingredients and gently spread over cake. Let cool in the refrigerator before cutting into squares.
