Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- baking powder
- shortening - 3/4 c
- cream of tartar - 3/4 tsp
- egg, lightly beaten - 1 item
How to make mile high biscuits:
Preheat oven to 450°.Sift together flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, sugar and salt into a mixing bowl. With pastry blender, cut shortening into flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add beaten egg to milk. Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients and mix with a fork until dough holds together. Turn onto floured board and roll out to 1-inch thickness. Cut into biscuits with cutter. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 12 minutes.
