Meatball stew
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- salt
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- egg - 1 item
- salad oil - 1 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- soft bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- ground beef
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- minced onion - 1 Tbsp
- medium potatoes - 3 item
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- stalk celery, sliced - 1 item
- small carrots - 4 item
- basil dried sweet - 1 tsp
How to make meatball stew:
Mix ground beef with 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, pepper, egg, minced onion and soft bread crumbs. Form into ball (size of a walnut). Brown in hot oil. Remove meatballs from skillet. Pour off all fat except 3 tablespoons. Transfer fat to Dutch oven.Blend in flour; stir in remaining ingredients in order given. Bring to boil. Simmer over low heat 10 minutes, adding more water if necessary. Place meatballs on top. Bake covered in a 350° oven for 1 hour or until the vegetables are tender.
