Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- water - 1/4 c
- egg yolks - 6 item
- gelatin - 1 Tbsp
- heavy cream - 1/2 pt
- egg whites - 6 item
- lemon juice - 3/4 c
- lemon rind
- angel food cake - 1 item
How to make lemon angel cake:
Dissolve gelatin in 1/4 cup water. Cook egg yolks, sugar, lemon juice, lemon rind and gelatin over hot water until it coats a spoon. Beat egg whites stiffly with sugar and add to mixture. Break angel food cake (either homemade or bakery cake) into bite size pieces. Oil an angel food cake pan and alternate layers of cake with sauce.
