Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onions - 3/4 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- parsley - 1 Tbsp
- Mozzarella cheese - 8 oz
- cans tomato paste - 2 oz
- Swiss cheese - 8 oz
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- garlic - 1 tsp
How to make lasagna:
In large heavy saucepan, lightly brown beef and onion. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, water, parsley, salt, sugar, garlic, pepper and oregano. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes.Lasagna noodles: Add 1 teaspoon salt and oil for 4 to 6 quarts rapidly boiling water. Add lasagne noodles. Boil for 12 to 14 minutes. Stir gently; drain.
In casserole bowl, add layer of lasagna and meat sauce, then add layer of cheese. Alternate. Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes until lightly brown and bubbly. Makes 8 servings.
