  • water - 2 c
  • cider vinegar - 6 c
  • hot pepper - 1 item
  • heads dill - 2 item
  • medium size cucumbers - 1 item
  • pure salt - 1/2 c
  • clove garlic 1/2 in each jar - 1 item
  • alum a tiny speck no larger than a grain of rice - 1 item

How to make kosher dill pickles:

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. In the meantime, pack 4 hot sterilized quart jars with the dill, garlic, cucumbers, hot pepper and alum. Now, fill jars to within 1/2-inch of top with the hot vinegar, salt solution.
