Hot fruit compote
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- whole cloves - 12 item
- cinnamon sticks - 3 item
- can apricot halves - 1 oz
- bourbon - 3/4 c
- can peach slices, drained - 1 lb
- can pitted cherries, drained - 1 lb
- can pineapple slices, cut in pieces - 1 oz
- seedless green grapes canned - 1 c
How to make hot fruit compote:
Drain pineapple and apricots, reserving syrups. Place dried fruit in large saucepan; add syrups, cinnamon sticks, cloves and bourbon. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add pineapple, apricots, cherries and grapes, then simmer five more minutes. Serve warm as accompaniment to ham or poultry. Serves 12; any leftovers will be delicious served hot or cold over vanilla ice cream.Recipe categories: Low protein, Fruit, Side dish.
