Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • cubed potatoes - 1 c
  • slices bacon - 3 item
  • can red kidney beans - 1 item
  • onion gravy mix - 1 pkg
  • can whole corn - 1 item
  • green peppers, diced - 1/3 c

How to make hobo stew:

Cook bacon until crisp; drain and save drippings. Brown hamburger in bacon drippings. Combine water, gravy mix, salt, pepper and chili powder into meat. Add cubed potatoes; cover tightly and simmer 20 minutes. Add green peppers, corn and kidney beans; cover and cook until vegetables are tender. Crumble bacon and sprinkle over top. Add and remove ingredients to accomodate your taste.
