Ingredients/Components

  • cold water - 1 qt
  • ammonia - 1/4 pt
  • grease - 5 lb
  • Borax - 1/2 c
  • box Banner lye - 1 item

How to make hard soap:

Mix Borax and lye together. When dissolved and cooled, add melted grease. Stir well, then add ammonia. Stir again until it thickens. Let stand until morning, then cut in squares.
