Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 3/4 c
- molasses - 1/4 c
- ginger - 2 tsp
- sifted all-purpose flour
- ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
How to make gingersnaps:
Cream shortening, brown sugar, molasses and egg until fluffy. Sift together remaining ingredients and stir into molasses mixture. Form into small balls (about 1 teaspoon); roll in granulated sugar and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for about 8 to 10 minutes.
