Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • flour - 3 c
  • coconut - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • nuts - 1 c
  • raisins - 1 c
  • margarine - 1 c
  • maraschino cherries - 6 item
  • sour milk - 1 c
  • drained pears - 1 c
  • Mix and add milk, raisins, pears and nuts
  • flour enough to make a pudding - 1/2 2/3
  • fruit raisins, dates, etc - 1/2 c

How to make fruit cake:

Cream together eggs, sugar and margarine. Mix and add milk, raisins, pears and nuts. Sift and add flour, soda, vanilla. Put in two greased layer pans. Bake at 300- 325° for 1 hour or more until toothpick comes out clean.FROSTING:1 c. sugar1/2 to 2/3 c. flour (enough to make a pudding)1/2 c. margarine1/2 c. milk1/2 c. fruit (raisins, dates, etc.)1/2 c. coconut1/2 c. nuts6 maraschino cherries
