Frozen fruit salad
Ingredients/Components
- can mandarin orange sections - 1 oz
- pkg - 1 oz
- boiling water - 1 c
- 1/2 pt - 1 c
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- miniature marshmallows - 1 c
- chopped nuts - 1/4 c
How to make frozen fruit salad:
Drain orange sections, reserving syrup. Add water to syrup to make 1/2 cup. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add measured liquid and chill until slightly thickened. Blend sour cream and mayonnaise into gelatin; chill again until thickened. Fold in orange sections, marshmallows and nuts. Spoon into 8-inch square pan or 8 x 4-inch loaf pan and freeze until firm. Unmold and garnish wtih crisp salad greens and additional fruit, if desired. Makes 5 cups or 10 servings.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Salads, Tropical fruits.
