  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • vegetable oil - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
  • raisins - 1/2 c
  • allspice - 1/2 tsp
  • coarsely chopped, peeled apples

How to make fresh apple cake:

Combine apples and sugar in a large bowl and let stand 10 minutes. Sift dry ingredients together. Blend into the apple-sugar mixture the oil and egg, then add dry ingredients, stirring until just blended. Fold in raisins and walnuts. Spread evenly in a greased 8 x 8-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes. Cool 10 minutes, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
