Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- vinegar
- black pepper - 1/8 tsp
- celery salt
- red pepper - 1/8 tsp
- mustard seed
- large tomatoes, quartered - 6 item
- onion, sliced and separated - 1 item
- bell pepper, sliced in rings - 1 item
- to 6 cucumbers, seeded and sliced - 4 item
- cold water or chopped ice - 1/4 c
How to make fire and ice tomatoes:
Marinade:3/4 c. vinegar1 1/2 tsp. celery salt4 1/2 tsp. sugar1/8 tsp. black pepper1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed1/2 tsp. salt1/8 tsp. red pepper1/4 c. cold water or chopped ice Marinade: Combine vinegar and seasonings; boil for 1 minute. Pour over vegetables. Chill for 2 to 3 hours. Add 1/4 cup cold water or chopped ice and serve. Will keep for 2 to 3 days in refrigerator.Recipe categories: Salads, Vegetables, Southern u.s..
