- salt - 1 tsp

How to make favorite apple cake:
Icing:1 stick margarine1/2 c. canned milk1 tsp. vanilla2 c. light brown sugar2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar Cake: Cream sugar and oil; add eggs, one at a time. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add to mixture. Beat well. Add apples, nuts and vanilla. Cook at 350° for 30 minutes or until done.Icing: Melt margarine; add brown sugar and milk. Stir well. Bring to a boil; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Add powdered sugar until right consistency. Add vanilla. Spread on cake. Use 13 x 9 pan or make in layers.
