Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1 with
- warm water - 1/4 c
- whole wheat flour - 3 c
- dry milk - 1/2 c
- beef broth - 3 c
- white flour
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- yellow corn meal - 1 c
- cracked wheat - 2 c
How to make dog biscuits:
Mix flours together with dry milk and salt. Dissolve yeast in warm water and let proof 5 minutes. Gradually beat into flour mixture along with beef broth. Will be stiff and hard to mix (may need to use your hands). Let rest 5 minutes, roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out dog biscuit shapes. Place on well-greased cookie sheet. Brush with egg glaze. Bake 45 minutes at 300°; turn off heat leaving biscuits in oven overnight to harden. Store in airtight container. Add 1/2 teaspoon garlic or 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese for gourmet dogs.Recipe categories: Weeknight, Novelty, Pet food.
