Divinity

Ingredients/Components

• sugar
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/4 tsp
• chopped nuts - 1 c
• water - 1/2 c
• egg whites - 2 item
• light corn syrup - 1/2 c

How to make divinity:

Mix sugar, syrup, salt and water. Cook stirring until sugar is dissolved. Continue cooking without stirring until a small amount dropped into cold water forms a firm ball. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Pour about half the syrup over egg whites. Cook remains of syrup until syrup forms a hard ball, but not brittle. Add slowly to first mixture. Beat until mixture holds its shape. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop by spoon onto wax paper.
