Divinity frosting
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- egg whites - 2 item
- dash of salt - 1 item
- light corn syrup - 1/3 c
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
How to make divinity frosting:
Cook sugar, syrup and water over low heat, stirring only until sugar is dissolved. Then boil rapidly, without stirring, to 242° or until syrup forms a firm boil when dropped into cold water. Add cream of tartar, salt and vanilla to egg whites. Beat until stiff, but not dry. Pour syrup in a thin stream into beaten egg whites, beating constantly. Continue beating until frosting will stand in peaks and is of consistency to spread.
