Divinity frosting
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- egg whites - 3 item
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
How to make divinity frosting:
Combine the first three ingredients in heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat until clear, stirring constantly. Cook, without stirring, until 240° on candy thermometer or until threads.Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Keep beating while adding hot syrup mixture. Add vanilla. Beat until thick and frosting is of spreading consistency. Yields enough for 9-inch cake.
