Devil's food cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 2 c
• vanilla - 2 tsp
• flour - 2 c
• soda - 1 tsp
• cocoa - 1/4 c
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• boiling water - 1 c
• shortening - 1/2 c
• sour milk - 1/2 c
• well-beaten eggs - 3 item

How to make devil's food cake:

Beat together first 6 ingredients. Sift together flour, soda and baking powder and beat into first mixture. Add boiling water last. (Add ingredients in order listed.) Bake in slow oven (350°). This cake will stay moist for a week or so.
