  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 4 Tbsp
  • salt
  • flour - 3 c
  • brown sugar
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • dates, chopped - 1 c

How to make date drop cookies:

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add milk; sift dry ingredients together twice. Add to the creamed mixture. Mix until smooth. Add dates; drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 375°.
