Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • milk - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped dates - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • plain flour
  • Crisco - 3/4 c
  • corn flakes - 1 item
  • cherries - 1 item

How to make date cookies:

Cream the Crisco and sugar. Add eggs and milk and blend. Sift together the flour, baking powder, soda and salt and add to mixture. Add vanilla, dates and nuts. Roll about 1 rounded teaspoonful of mixture into a ball, then roll in crushed corn flakes. Place cherry on top and bake at 450° for 10 minutes.
