Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1/2 lb
- vegetable shortening - 1/2 c
- sugar - 3 c
- large eggs, beaten - 5 item
- sifted flour - 3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- lemon flavoring - 1/2 tsp
How to make cold oven pound cake:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar; add beaten eggs, flour, salt and baking powder. Add dry ingredients to egg mixture; add milk and flavorings. Pour into greased and floured pan. Put in cold oven. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes without opening door, then check for doneness. Bake another 15 minutes if needed.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low sodium.
