Ingredients/Components
- evaporated milk - 2/3 c
- powdered sugar - 1/2 c
- container Cool Whip - 1 item
- Duncan Hines butter cake mix - 1 item
- can or bag coconut - 1 item
How to make coconut cake:
Bake butter cake mix following package directions in a 9 x 13-inch pan.While baking the cake mix, add enough water to the 2/3 cup evaporated milk to make 1 3/4 cups liquid. Add heaping 1/2 cupful of powdered sugar. Bring to a boil. Make sure all sugar is dissolved. When cake is done, take toothpick and punch holes in the top of the cake. Pour the hot liquid mixture over the hot cake. Let it cool completely. Ice with a carton of Cool Whip and sprinkle the Cool Whip with coconut.
