Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • 8 oz - 2 pkg
  • mayonnaise - 1/2 c
  • tomato juice - 2 c
  • celery, finely chopped - 1 c
  • to 4 green onions, finely chopped - 3 item
  • canned green gage plums, drained and juice reserved - 2 c

How to make christmas salad:

In 10-cup ring mold, add each mixture separately and refrigerate the following:

Red mixture: Heat tomato juice to boiling point. Dissolve lemon jello in juice. Cool. Add celery, green onions, vinegar and salt. Pour into mold. Chill. When congealed add white mixture.

White mixture: Cream softened cream cheese and mayonnaise like whipped cream. Add to mold over red mixture. Chill. Then add green mixture.

Green mixture: Drain juice from plums and heat to boiling. Add lime jello. Chop plums in blender and add to jello mixture. When cool, pour over white mixture. Chill.

Pointed paper cups set in glasses to mold can be used. This makes 12 small Christmas tree salads.
