  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 6 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 6 Tbsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • chocolate chips - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • plus 1 Tbsp - 1 c
  • butter Crisco - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate chip cookies:

Preheat oven to 375°. Cream together shortening, sugars, vanilla and egg. Stir in flour, soda and salt. Then stir in chips. Drop from a teaspoon 2-inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet about 1 minute, then move to rack to finish cooling. Makes approximately 3 to 3 1/2 dozen.
