Chocolate caramel squares
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- evaporated milk - 1/3 c
- chocolate chips - 1 c
- melted butter - 3/4 c
- German chocolate cake mix - 1 pkg
How to make chocolate caramel squares:
In a heavy pan, combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Cook until melted. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan. Combine dry cake mix, melted butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts. By hand, stir until dough holds together. Press 1/2 of dough mixture into pan. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and spread caramel mixture over baked dough. Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel layer. Crumble reserved dough over caramel mix layer. Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 minutes.
